I was trying to look up a name. It seems to me that it belongs in some kind of Rudyard Kipling story. It's a name out of the old British Raj. I don't know if it's a place, a title/rank, or what. I don't even know if I'm spelling it right. Google is of no help.
Does anyone recognize the word kitmuldar? What am I thinking of? Help me out.
UPDATE: I found a word variously spelled kitmuggar, kit-muggar, kitmugger, meaning "steward" or "table servant." I think this is the word I've been trying to remember.
