Mission News

I just got back this afternoon from a week in Tennessee with our youth. We built a back porch for a trailer, as well as did other cool things.

One of the other groups was led by someone I went to seminary with, though we remembered each other only vaguely. That said, he has a son who is a pastor in the Kentucky Conference, who has just been "parachute dropped" into the Hebron, KY, area to attempt to found a new church. There has been no groundwork done, and there are no funds beyond his salary. He has five years to see what he can do, starting last month. His name is Matthew Johnson. He is 29 years old. If any of my connections in the Cincinnati/Southeast Indiana/Northern Kentucky area would like to befriend him or help him in any way, I'm sure he'd appreciate it. He has a FB page.

For those of you who don't read our church LJ (efumc), some great pix of our youth mission trip can be found here:
