Heading out the door

This morning is starting slower than I'd like, but I've learned that sometimes God just slows us down. Nothing to get hung about, as they say.

I'm leaving in a few hours for West Lafayette to attend the Gathering of United Methodist Men. My function is to mind the booth of the National Association of UM Scouters. I didn't register for the Gathering, since I didn't figure I'd have time to attend. I'm coming to free up others to participate.

But they keep trying to give me jobs to do. As an officer of NAUMS, I've already been co-opted to help lead a worship service on Saturday morning. I just turned down a friend's request that I help lead a training session. I really just want to schmooze people at the NAUMS booth, folks.

Be back late Saturday night. I'd appreciate any prayers anybody's got to spare.
