Deja vu all over again

At our Cub Pack meeting tonight, a single mom's boyfriend -- a man of about my age -- came up to me and said, "Art Collins?" Yes, I replied. "Dan V___," he said. I know that name, I said. He had been active in camp and Order of the Arrow back when I was on staff at Camp Wapehani. We chatted for a while.

I went over to Rod A___, a dad of one Cub and several Boy Scouts, whom I've known now for two years or so. You know that guy? I said. We were on camp staff at Wapehani in 1971. "Well, I was a camper at Wapehani in 1971," Rod replied. I was stunned. I didn't know we shared a history.

Then up came a guy to me whose face I knew, though I stumbled to get his name out. It was Isaac B____, whom I graduated from high school with -- in 1971. His grandson was crossing over from Tiger to Wolf tonight. We talked about old times in Spencer and people we knew.

I am totally weirded out.
