So very tired

Things went well this weekend. The Wilderness First Aid course was really well done. There were a few things presented that were new to me, along with a bunch of stuff I learned once upon a time but that nobody teaches in a regular First Aid course anymore (like, say, tourniquet protocols).

The deal is, in the Wilderness rules regress to old-time judgments. We may be able to do provide better care than we used to, but when you're a two-day walk from even the nearest Ranger station, then ambulances and EMTs and hospitals and prescription drugs might as well be on the far side of the moon. Some possibilities are limited to what you can do with the resources on hand.

I came home to find that the Confirmation Class trip had gone quite well. I am very encouraged by that. An elderly member died this morning, so that kind of sets up the first priority for this week.
