Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou, God

I have nailed my last campsite reservation. Took me umpteen calls to the UK, but I've got a place to camp on Lake Windermere for the nights of May 23 and 24.

I also found out that not only am I landing in the UK on a freaking Bank Holiday, but all the schools in the country have let out for a week for mid-term hols. Egad.

I told my friend from England that I won't have to find my way up Scafell Pike; I'll just follow the herd. Meanwhile, my parishioner from Scotland warns me that traffic will be bumper-to-bumper in the Lake District. The Lake District is like the Great Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Cherokee -- the most visited, most popular, outdoorsy place in the country.

Anyway, it means I'll be close to Bowness-on-Windermere on Sunday, May 25, so I may drop in to worship with my friend the Rev. Richard Hall, pastor of the Methodist Church there, before taking off to visit Hadrian's Wall.
