Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

At tonight's Council Board Meeting, we were talking about the new District being formed from two old Districts. Basically, we're taking four counties of the four and a half that Miami and Valley Trails have between them and making a new District out of them. Our Council Scout Exec was saying recently that he just hopes that nobody wants to come up with some authentic Native American name. He says he can never spell 'em or pronounce 'em right. My suggestion for a new District name:
OMGWTFBBQ
Everybody can spell that.

After the meeting, one of the guys on the committee to form the new District approached me and asked if I would serve as Advancement Chair for the new District. I've served for the last year as Advancement Chair for Valley Trails District, and I'm happy to do so, but if they'd wanted somebody else it wouldn't have broken my heart. Like so many orgs, though, the people in the org who'll actually take a responsibility and follow through with it is comparatively small, so I guess I'm being recognized as one of those people, and that's a compliment.
