Racing toward the finish line

It's been a jam-packed week, but I've about got it whipped. What must be done will be done by tomorrow. What can't get done will have to be abandoned (for now). I've got a wedding to go to in Tipton, IN, Saturday, followed by a busy Sunday. That leaves Monday for last-minute stuff, as I am leaving Tuesday morning for my vacation trip.

collinsmom is banging away at yet another class paper. She only seems to emerge a couple of times a day. I'm afraid to disturb her, lest she see her shadow and we get six more weeks in this summer term.

Sassy and Cuthbert are both demanding a lot of attention. I'll miss them while I'm on the road.

This is my fourth major trip of the summer. That's too many; not enough recovery time between. Yet I don't think I'll be getting this many opportunities again for a while. that_guy_zach would like to get together and do a little local trekking toward the end of August/early September, and I could go for that, but we'll have to see how it works in with collinsmom's school schedule.

I would particularly like to go hiking on Isle Royale sometime in the early fall. Hmmm . . .
