And why, you ask, am I so aware of a corrupt old bastard like Mugabe? Because this once-upon-a-time-communist authoritarian tyrant was and is the darling of the Christian Left. Why do you think we United Methodists put Africa University in Zimbabwe? Yeah, we'd been in Zimbabwe for a long time, but we had a strong presence many other places in Africa. Our aging revolutionaries just wanted to validate this creep.
