Busy day

I got up early and drove to Wilderstead today. Only took 2 hrs 45 minutes. There, I did some more caulking around the French doors and painted some bare woodwork with primer. Then, I unlimbered my new, 24' extension ladder. Oh, it was wonderful. It reaches all the way to the roofline from the lowest part of the ground with nary a wobble. Went into town on an errand, then back out to the woods, one quickie chore and headed for home.

And that's where the day kind of fell apart. collinsmom left at 4:00, and I got in at 5:30 (half an hour late because of rush hour traffic through Bloomingfool). Put on my new uniform and went to the troop meeting. Discovered there that I had failed to put my car keys in my pocket (hey, I'd driven the truck all day). But that meant when I got home that I was locked out of my house, with my wife four hours away. So I called my landlords, who cheerfully came over (after a half hour or so) and let me in. I'm still chilled to the bone.
