Civil war cannons at the cemetery in Spencer
Veterans Memorial, Spencer Veterans Memorial, Spencer

Note the use of geodes in constructing this pavilion

On my jaunt over to Spencer last weekend, I drove through the cemetery. I once lived right next to this cemetery (we had ZERO trick-or-treaters that year). I remember these cannons and the pavilion well. We used to play on them as children.

The cannons are the shape called "soda pop bottle." They were breech-loading guns. The pavilion behind them is covered in geodes, which are found all around this neck of the woods.
