Making haste slowly

My exhausting summer is finally getting to me. I'm on the edge of a bad cold. I have zero energy. And I've got to get through a big day tomorrow, celebrating communion at church, then driving to Lafayette and doing my mother-in-law's funeral.

My brother-in-law keeps calling up with new wrinkles for said funeral; he sounds wired on coffee. I wish he'd take a nap and just leave it alone. Oh, well. I've dealt with difficult families before. I'll get through it, and do my best for Estelle.

Everything is set up for tomorrow. All I have to do is finish thinking up my children's lesson for the morning, copy the funeral service bulletin (bro-in-law wanted one -- sheesh), and write Estelle's funeral sermon. Everything else takes second place to preparing for and getting through the big day.
