Big Bird

collinsmom and I were taking a load of stuff out to the cabin this evening, and as we approached our gate, there were three huge turkeys, diddy-bopping down the hill to the road. I got out to take a picture. This is the last one in line, the other two already disappearing in a leisurely fashion into the tall grass below our lane.

These are undoubtedly the same three turkeys Sassafras and I saw from the car as we drove in from the county road last Saturday. I've been hearing gobbling off and on almost every time I've gone out to work at Wilderstead.

The turkeys are enormous, they're all over the place, and they're stupid. That's about all you can say for turkeys. Same as you can say about the white-tail deer out our way.

Why did the turkey cross the road?
Why did the turkey cross the road?
Last of three crossing Chantry Lane, heading for Pishon Creek.
