After worship, the Church Council met to review the recommendations for salary and benefits for the new pastor. Great grumblings and so on. The measure passed by a low margin. On to Charge Conference in two weeks at which I will preside.
I was deeply saddened by it all. I am so tired of being strong and responsible for everybody. I just want to run away.
Which I did this afternoon. I picked up
Three hours later, we went out and got some chicken tenders and potato wedges to go with the Fuller's Vintage Ale I'd brought. We returned to Wilderstead, contemplated the job so far, and said, "It is good."

This is going to be a very busy week. All my pastoral work I need to cram into tomorrow, as well as getting some stuff done out at Wilderstead.
Tuesday, I go to Yonder UMC to spend the day talking with the leaders of my new congregation and figuring out what's up with that transition. Wednesday, I leave for D.C. to meet
