After canoeing yesterday, I went to Cincy to see a kid in the hospital and picked up my son at the bus station.
Instead of sleeping in, I got up early this morning and went to Greensburg, where I had coffee and lunch with
Back home. Go to the bank. Walk the dog. Go to post office and get oil changed in car. Supper. Go to church, where I put all the confirmation banners away and straightened the sanctuary in order for it to be ready to receive Willie S.'s body Tuesday for his visitation. Jockeyed the phones.
Didn't get any more packing done, like I'd planned for today. Must get some rest tomorrow, so my brain'll be capable of writing a funeral sermon tomorrow night.
So, tomorrow: Catch up with old lady in hospital, find out if kid is still in the other hospital, call jail to find out when I can visit parishioner starting her sentence there, get helical CT scan (part of annual physical) at hospital, spend time at Willie's visitation with his family, write funeral sermon.
Just an ordinary day in an ordinary pastor's life.
. . . Dear God.
