Magna cum Lordy

I renewed my First Aid and CPR credentials yesterday at the Red Cross. FA is good for three years, CPR for one. I keep them up so that I don't need to worry about finding somebody with these credentials to do Venturing trips and such. Same reason I keep up my Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, and Youth Protection cards. All that goes on the Tour Permit every year, which keeps the insurance in force and makes the trip planning go smoothly.

And, of course, I put these things on the Continuing Education report every year, since the only reason I keep up all these credentials is to do ministry. Beats the heck out of some boring how-to-do-church-better seminar by some "expert"*. Between renewing my cards and my own reading, I usually don't have much else I need to do in any given year to satisfy my CE requirements.

*Old Definition of "Expert": anyone who is 25 miles from home.
