Today's Patented Pastoral Profundity
™ comes from this weekend. After listening to teenage girls complaining about how the boys they liked treated them, I finally said:If you don't want to be treated like crap, then quit acting like toilet paper.
Really, it boggles me how girls let boys wipe themselves on them. And I have come to agree with those who point to the "liberation" of women and girls that society is so proud of these days. The "freedom" to be coarse (like the guys), to want what you want and never fret the consequences (like the guys), to "hook up" without commitment (like the guys) effectively means that girls and women are co-conspirators in their own degradation. The point of all those old, fuddy-duddy social morés was not to hold women back from experiencing and achieving everything they could dream of, it was to hold MEN
back from using them and then dropping them for the next thing that caught their attention.
