A health to the barley-mow, indeed

I made an awesome beef stew for Deanne's return from her retreat. I wanted to thicken it up and make it all good and hearty, so I added barley to it. I didn't know how much barley to add, and I wound up adding too much. It still tastes good, but it's got a LOT of barley. There's no broth to speak of, because the barley soaked it all up. Well, I'll know better next time. The good news is, barley adds both taste and texture to the stew. I just need to beware of going overboard on it.
