Praise be

Church was stressful but fun this morning. All our music people were absent at the same time, so I wound up being the main accompanist, with 14-year-old Marshall assisting. I played organ, he played piano. I told them, When the water boy and the ball boy get up off the bench and are sent in to play, you know that's a sign of the End Times. On top of everything, the microphones were all dead today. Still, we got the job done.

We went from Beethoven (my Prelude was the Shepherd's Song from the Pastoral Symphony) to old-time Southern Gospel today. The congregation didn't quite know what to make of "And Can it Be," but we got through it. They really liked "Life's Railway to Heaven," which I had picked to honor Keith Clark's birthday. Now it's off to a sheep roast and then Venture Crew. Boo-yah.
