A word of Godspeed and good cheer
To all on earth, or far or near,
Or friend or foe, or thine or mine –
In echo of the voice divine,
Heard when the Star bloomed forth and lit
The world’s face, with God’s smile on it.
-- James Whitcomb Riley
Snow is falling in a desultory way. We may get more vigorous weather by morning, but right now, it's no big deal.
I took a nap this afternoon in Deanne's new recliner chair. It held me down and drugged me, I swear. I couldn't get out of the thing. Still, I feel better for the rest.
We had ham and beans with cornbread for supper. Tomorrow, I'm spatchcocking a turkey and making home-made pretzels.
I took Sassy for a walk just a little bit ago while it was still light out. Now, night is falling.
Tonight at 11:00 p.m. is our Christmas eve service of candlelighting and holy communion.
Tomorrow should be a slow day. Without family visiting, I'm afraid it's not going to be very festive. Still, we all need all the rest we can get these days.
Merry Christmas to all of you out there in cyber-land!
