Hmmm . . .

Okay, so here's my thinking so far on menus for the big catered meals coming up. The first is the church's Consecration Sunday luncheon, served as a banquet in courses by Boy Scout Troop 119.

Tentative Menu

Appetizer: Parmesan Chicken Tenders with choice of white or red dipping sauces
Salad: Italian salad served family style
Soup: Texas Pinto Bean Soup (very lively)
Bread: Herb Pinwheel Rolls
Entree: Roast Beef and veggies
Desserts: Vermont Creme Pie; Irish Bread and Butter Pudding w/whipped topping; Pumpkin Pie w/whipped topping;
          Cheesecake w/cherry or chocolate topping
Drinks:  Water; Iced Tea; Coffee; Milk

The District Clergy and Spouses Christmas Party will be catered by Venturing Crew 119.  They don't have as many people to cook and serve, so we'll do this one buffet style.  That said, we won't do self-serve, we'll have people behind the line to fill plates; in addition, we'll have a couple of Venturers available to help the aged and infirm.

Gathering:  Wassail Bowl w/ nibbles of some sort (still thinking)
Appetizer/Salad:  Phred's Glop (I'll have to think up a more appetizing name for this, like maybe Jello Extravaganza or something
          -- it's a layered jello, pineapple, fruit, and cheese thing)
Soup:  Pumpkin Soup
Bread:  Cheddar Drop Biscuits
Entree:  City Ham w/optional brown mustard or raisin sauce, Christmas Hash, Green Beans
Desserts:  Trifle; Martian Death Brownies (once again, that's our name for them, and I'll have to change it
          -- they're a real choc & sugar overload, though); Pecan Pie; one other to be determined (?)
Drinks:  Water, Iced Tea, Hot Tea, Coffee
