On your mark, get ready . . .
I'm going camping tonight with our Venturing Crew at Maumee Scout Reservation. Our first campout will be in a cabin heated by a wood stove. We plan a little hiking, a little fishing, a little instruction in some basic camping skills -- nothing too stressful.
My 91-year-old parishioner got her hip pinned with a big ol' nail, and is doing well. She will be discharged from the hospital Sunday and go to a nearby nursing home for rehab.
I've got just two hours to finish all the work I've got left to do, pack the crew gear, and get myself ready to go to the woods, which means I'm right on schedule to my regular nervous breakdown. Ya know, one of these days, I'm going to go on a trip rested and ready.
Here's praying for good weather.
