A wearisome week

Monday, I flew to Dallas. The plane was delayed twice; finally, I switched to another plane at no cost. The meeting was very small beer.

Tuesday, I had two very significant conversations rather than attending the meeting I was officially supposed to be in. It was a good trade. I realized that staying until after 6:00 p.m. was going to be awful, though, and I spent $50 to switch my flight out.

Yesterday, I plugged away and got all kinds of things done. I was really thinking I was getting stuff done!

Today, I've been dragging myself around, dealing with aggravations of various sorts.

Tomorrow, I have somewhere between eight and thirteen 4th- and 5th-graders coming for a God and Family retreat. They stay through Saturday afternoon. Here's hoping that goes well.

The Prodigal Returns

Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) has withdrawn from consideration as Commerce Secretary in the Obama Administration. The stimulus package was one reason why. Apparently, this particular Prodigal Son couldn't see spending that much money on prostitutes.

(The other issue was political control of the Census, which Gregg opposed Clinton on ten years ago. Good for him.)
