Tidings of Comfort Food and Joy

We decorated the church for Advent yesterday. We also had lunch. The Worship Chair's hubby whomped up some hearty vegetable soup. I made some grilled cheese sandwiches. Deanne furnished pumpkin pies.

In one of the least-expected, but most affirming, episodes of my current pastorate, I was actually asked for the recipe of my grilled cheese. The secret is simple: two slices of American cheese and a touch of mayo on the inside, real butter on the outside.

Yeah, and when you have a 20" cast iron skillet, you can make a mort of 'em in a hurry! ; 9
