I got up way early this morning and was out the door shortly after 7:00 a.m. with a Scout who wanted to earn some money. We drove over to Wilderstead and he assisted me in repairing barbed wire fencing. It took us three hours on the Akes Hill (far) side, then we broke for lunch. After lunch, we spent an hour doing the Woods Ridge (near) side. By that time, we were very tired.
I had a lot left I could have done, but I can do those things myself. The barbed wire has been wanting attention since early spring, and it takes two people to lug the wire, the stretchers, the snips, and extra water all along the fence line to get it done.
I still need to re-walk the fence line and shore up my signage in places. Plus, I need to put in a new post or two -- and they aren't easy to lug around, either. Not to speak of what a post-driver weighs. But I can do that myself. All in all, it was time well spent.
But, Oh! there is just so much to do over yonder: more than I can keep up with, I fear.
