Sixteen tons, and whaddya get

A tired but satisfied feeling, that's what.

I woke up late this morning -- so to speak. I was going to get up at 4:45 in order to be fully awake for the drive over to Wilderstead. I had a guy coming to deliver crushed rock at 9:30. I woke up at 6:15 instead, and was out the door by 6:30. I made it to the holler just minutes ahead of the guy with the dump truck.

All in all, I had three loads delivered -- about sixteen tons, give or take. That repairs the erosion I had from the big rains, but fills in some low spots I've been needing to get after. Of course, just dumping it on the road doesn't get 'er done. I had to use a rake and a scoop shovel to finish spreading it evenly after it was spread by the dump truck.

In between deliveries, I cut up a downed tree and stacked the wood, did some mowing, that sort of thing. Finished off with a soak in a deep pool in the creek. Ahhh.

It was a beautiful day. God is good.
