So there.

According to the headlines of articles that otherwise don't interest me, I note that the ongoing Writers strike may endanger the next Democratic Candidates' debate. Two reactions:

1) Good for them. I wish somebody could come up with something that would shut them all up for the next ten months or so.

2) But why? asks the more inquisitive part of my brain. Why should the refusal to work of people who write TV fiction for mere actors to recite shut down the exchange of ideas on the part of the political candidates? Then I remember the Democrats, and the question answers itself.

Here we go

Coddle is simmering on the stove, and soda bread is in the oven. All is right with the world.

Tomorrow after worship and Sunday School, the Worship Committee is hosting a soup-and-sandwich lunch (hence, the coddle and soda bread), after which we hang the greens and get the church ready for Advent and Christmas.

Those of us working on next Fall's UM Scout Retreat at Camp Moneto will be gathering over yonder at 5:00 p.m. That's an hour away for me. So it's a busy day tomorrow.

The Christmas Madness is upon us. Angels and ministers of grace, defend us!
