Charles Wesley's Last Hymn
Wesley was the author of over 6,000 hymns. This year is the 300th anniversary of his birth (December 18, 1707). The following was his last verse composition, dictated from his death-bed.
In age and feebleness extreme,
Who shall a helpless worm redeem?
Jesus, my only hope thou art,
Strength of my failing flesh and heart:
O could I catch one smile from thee,
And drop into eternity!
