And, we're back!
Yesterday was awfulness again. The movers were two hours late in finding our old house (different crew). These three guys (Athos, Porthos, and Aramis) did a far better job than the original crew (Larry, Moe, and Curley), although when the Stooges called for help, two guys did come help for a while (Frick and Frack). However, at the end of the day, one of the Musketeers managed to rip the entire back off a 4' x 8' bookcase -- one of a matched set I made over twenty years ago. I was heartbroken. But I did manage to get it put back together.
My conclusion: I'm only going to move one more time in my life (when I retire). And when that time comes, I think I'll just rent me a truck and move all my junk by my lonesome.
Today, I got up just after six when a bed frame came crashing down on the upstairs banister. Immediately thereafter, a freaked-out Cuthbert was found in my bed, saying, "I had nothing to do with it and I'll never do it again, I promise." So I got up and got busy sorting through the chaos.
By mid-morning, when I took a break to go to the office, I had rendered a couple of rooms semi-inhabitable. By the time I left to go to my Dentist's appointment, all our computers were sitting out, ready to be connected. The cable guy came when I was gone and got our TV and internet service back up and running. collinsmom
then got both my regular computers hooked up properly. And we're operational.
By the way, the dentist's visit was a truly wonderful thing. He worked on both my upper right and lower left teeth, which should have been a chore, but I was so weary, I fell asleep in the middle of his drilling. I woke up refreshed and alive like I ain't been in days. Who'd'a thunk it?
