|My favorite passage in Bede

The vet says that Cuthbert's eye is healing nicely. He got some shots today, and everything is on track. I was especially worried that his sore eye (or formerly sore eye) was pinker around the lids than his good eye. The vet said orange kittens have really pink eyelids. So he's not worried. Anyway, we're continuing his treatment with amoxicillin and atropine ointment and antibiotic ointment and wormer and vitamins. Cuthbert is pretty tired of it all.
This verse has been running through my head as I've been praying for Cuthbert (a fine example of eisegesis, no doubt):
I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may be rich, and white garments to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. -- Revelation 3:18
(One of the products that Laodicea was famous for in ancient times was the production of eye ointment.)
