Another new userpic

This userpic is from the illuminated title page of the Gospel according to St. Luke as it appears in the Lindisfarne Gospels. Cool, huh?

Those of you up on the traditional interpretation of Scripture will understand the flying cow. Others may be wondering about the Angelic Ox: it's a figure associated with St. Luke. In Revelation, the Four Living Beings with their various appearances are associated with the four-fold Gospel and the writers thereof. So St. Luke gets an ox in his portrait.

That may surprise you. But would I give you a bum steer? Just don't have a cow over it.
