Cub Grub

I've been asked to cook for the Council Cub-o-ree again this year. It will be June 27-29, 2020, at Maumee Scout Reservation. First meal to be served will be Saturday dinner. Decision still pending whether we end after breakfast on Monday, or lunch.

So, I've been designing a kid-friendly-but-still-rock-your-socks menu for the weekend. Here is my first draft.

Saturday dinner
Taco Salad w/ corn chips
Pinto Beans
Mexican Brownies (basically, brownies with cinnamon)
Bug Juice

Saturday cracker barrel
Pretzel rods
Cheese sticks
Bug Juice

Sunday breakfast
Chicken and Waffles (not fried chicken, but chicken chunks wrapped in bacon)
Syrup, butter
Fresh fruit
Instant Oatmeal (for those who need it to get their bowels moving)
Milk

Sunday lunch
Tomato-Basil Soup
Grilled Cheese
Crudité
Bug Juice

Sunday dinner
City Ham
Volcano Potatoes (mashed potatoes filled with sour cream & melted cheese)
Green Beans
Scratch Rolls
No-Bake Cookies
Milk

Sunday cracker barrel
Sundae Bar
Bug Juice

Monday breakfast
Sausage Gravy and Scratch Biscuits
Butter, Jelly (for those who must have their biscuits on the side)
Fresh fruit
Instant oatmeal (see above)
Milk

Monday lunch (tentative)
Who's a good doggie? (hot dogs with all the trimmings)
Mac and Cheese
Horseradish Cole Slaw (for those parents (you know who you are) who insist there be some veg somewhere)
