Gimme that new old-time religion

I came bounding into the bedroom this morning and awakened Deanne singing this new version of an old Gospel hymn:

I am resolved no longer to linger,
off to the shower I go;
things that are cleaner, things that smell nicer
soon shall restore my soul!

I will hasten (hurry!), I will hasten (faster!),
hasten so glad and free (glad and free-ee-ee-ee).
When I return I'm sure you will find it
easier to stand next to me!
