I'm just here for the food

For those who like to look at pix of people making delicious food ("Food Porn," as we call it), I have uploaded some of Anna's pix of last weekend's Wapehani District Winter Rendezvous. We start cooking for Saturday evening's Feast the day before:

Our cracker barrel had an ancient Roman theme:

And with that, we started going full-bore toward the Feast:

A peck of pretty peppers
Making shish kebab

Tears, idle tears
We go through an amazing amount of onions

Finally, we get to the presentation:

Bill Grogan's Goat (and Chicken) Kebabs; Beans and Rice

20200118_165624

Mama Dee's Church Dinner Lasagne; The Buck Stops Here (Venison-bacon pie)

20200118_165629

Oma's Meatballs und Spätzle; Green Beans

20200118_165634

Guckensalat (Cucumber salad); Green Salad

20200118_165640

Nanner Puddin'; Dark Chocolate Brownies

This was one of two serving lines. We had two seatings, also. The Rendezvous had more than 550 people on site; about 400 may have stayed for the Feast. (It varies with weather conditions, etc.) In the end, though, we assume we will feed up to 500 people and cook accordingly. Some years there are lots of leftovers; some years, there ain't much left to gnaw on.
