A Philmont Memory

Saw a post online about setting up the yurt at Whiteman Vega. Philmont has a concession to use parts of the Carson National Forest -- the Valle Vidal -- for their summer programs. But since Philmont doesn't own the land, they can't put up permanent structures. Hence, the yurt.

Venture Crew 699 made it to Whiteman Vega in 2000. When we asked to dispose of our trash, the staff said that their capacity to receive trash was limited, and we'd have to dance to prove ourselves worthy of using their trash bin. Immediately, a dance-off ensued between Sarah and Zach, to see who could channel Brittney Spears the best. Zach won.
