Speaking of the Dacks

Here's another photo from our 2004 high adventure trip to the High Peaks area. I believe this is Avalanche Pass between Lake Colden and Marcy Dam. It's a loooong way from anywhere, but the trip was worth it. All the wonderful things there are to see are not all put in a theme park for you to ride a golf cart up to; the best you have to make an effort to go find.
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate
And though I oft have passed them by
The time will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.
