So, tonight, we had dinner together at our place. I made brisket, Mindy brought dessert, Marcus and Rodelyn and their spouses brought side dishes. We ate and talked and laughed. And then we got down to answering questions that spouses and couples have about the parsonage life -- something more than mere clergy shop talk. And the star of the evening was Deanne.
My wife is smart. She's perceptive. She has the wisdom of many experiences. She's a survivor. She knows who she is and what she can do. I am very proud of her, for so many things, and none more so than her ability to talk about the road ahead with some people who too often get left out of the conversation when people enter the road to ordained ministry.
Best of luck to Marcus and Jessica, Gregory and Rodelyn. May you be as blessed in your ministry and in your relationship with your spouse as we have been. Go with God.
