Chills the body but not the soul

I tootled over to Wilderstead Thursday evening with only myself for company. Sometimes that can be uncomfortable, but I managed. Spent a quiet evening thinking and praying. Had to get up a couple times in the night to throw some more firewood in the stove, but was cozy enough.

Next morning, I got out to look around a bit. The brush I cut away from the downed trees has already mostly been carried off down the valley. You can see my "bridge" plainly now. The water was crystal clear and flowing easily. I didn't get any chores done, but it did me good to spend the night out in the quiet holler.
