A Collect for Eutychus

So far as I know, no Christian Church commemorates Eutychus, the young fellow who fell asleep and took a header out the window in Ephesus because Paul was preaching too long, and whom Paul restored to life. Edmund Clowney used to write a humor column called "Eutychus and his Kin" for Christianity Today. In any case, if I ever build my chapel in the woods, there will be a stained glass window of Eutychus (asleep, of course) in the rear of the nave, above the door.

With that in mind, I have written a collect for a day commemorating Eutychus. Perhaps someone could recommend an appropriate day for the festival. Like, say, the last day of Annual Conference.

O God, who by the hand of Paul
did restore the blessed Eutychus to life
when he was overcome with weariness:
Restore our souls as often as we are in danger
of becoming weary in our well-doing,
that we may continue in your service unto the ages of ages;
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
