Busy day

Church was really good this morning. First Sunday of Lent, lots of kids in worship, even had a couple of old-timers re-colonize the dead space right in front of the pulpit (a true miracle, that). Sunday School was fun. Lots of people, lots of discussion. The youth refined their ideas for their March retreat in their class (very impressed with them right now).

After a quick dinner out at our favorite Mexican restaurant, it was back to the church. Lou had his Eagle Court of Honor and reception this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. It was a grand affair. Another Eagle is fledged! Congratulations, Lou!

As that party was still going on, the Venturers gathered for their meeting at 3:30. We took down the tower and put it all away. Then we passed out passport applications and talked about how to get a passport. I outlined both the summer and fall high adventure trips (both of which will require a passport) for discussion. Both were generally approved, and I will go on to cost them out with greater precision.

We finished up the meeting playing balloon basketball, which has to be seen to be believed. The Uglies beat the Crudes 2-1.
