What's cookin'?

The Eating Season is over, thank God; however, this is still a Cooking Month.

This evening, the Venturers are hosting a Twelfth Night Feast. We're cooking Coddle and Soda Bread with Bread and Butter Pudding. And, we're showing Shakespeare's Twelfth Night on video. At EFUMC 6:00 p.m. Donations to the Crew.

Tomorrow, EFUMC is doing a Scouting Ministry Training event and Program Review of all our scouting programs. 2-7 p.m., with supper included: Beef and Barley Stew, with Trifle for dessert.

The weekend of January 18-20 is the Wapehani District Winter Rendezvous at Maumee Scout Reservation. I'm the chief cook and bottlewasher for that one. We're feeding about 500 Scouts. Highlights include beef brisket, spatchcocked turkey, whole roast hog, Herbed Fried Rabbit, chocolate and bacon pieces . . .

And, before you know it, it'll be time for EFUMC's annual community Chili Cookoff! This is sponsored by our Missions Committee and raises money for various trips and causes. Friday evening, January 25, 6:00 p.m. Bring your pot to compete or just come to eat and enjoy!
