Taxiing down the runway

Church was great this morning. And to my surprise, all the kids who came forward for my children's lesson were BOYS. Six of them. Gotta love a church with boys in it.

I sliced up the brisket before church this morning and put it in the ovens to warm up to serving temp. By noon, Deanne and I were out at Flatwoods Park setting up for the church picnic. The brisket was greatly approved by all. So was the barbecue sauce I made last week. People played games or lingered to talk, a sign of a good time. I left about 3:00 and took a load of stuff back to home and church. Then Deanne and I loaded up Mike W's grill and I took it out to his house (he had left it at the church after the Grill-off yesterday because it was too hot still to move).

And now, I'm home, quietly catching up on the intertubes. When I get some moxie back, I'll get my personal stuff packed for Philmont, then go over to the church and finish getting the crew gear ready for loading. Then it's time for a last run of paperwork to make sure all my ducks are in a row.

Tomorrow, we take off for another great adventure. I will be pretty much incommunicado for 17 days or so. Y'all pray for us while we're gone.
