Half my personal gear is assembled. Gotta get my clothes and drugs and whatnot put together, and that means one more session of laundry before leaving.
Certificates for grill-off have been printed. Iron-on transfer for winner's apron has been printed and is ready to apply.
Tomorrow, we go to Evansville for Aunt Mary's funeral. Friday is last chance for details around here. Saturday is grill-off and Philmont shopping and church picnic prep. Sunday's sermon is in the bag. Sunday afternoon is the picnic. And that brings us to Monday morning and the beginning of our trip.
My prayer every day until we take off will be that of Sir Jacob Astley, uttered before the Battle of Edgehill in the English Civil War:
Lord, thou knowest how busy I must be this day.
If I forget thee, do not thou forget me. Amen.
