Recommended Reading List

I was intrigued by somebody publishing a Reading List by an eminent preaching professor. It got me thinking: what books had most affected me? So, I set about to make up a Reading List of my own.

If I were to include here all my favorite books and authors, this list would be twice as long. Likewise, if I were to try to make a list of books I recommended as essential, I'm not sure I'd still recommend all of these. But these are the books that I have re-read frequently, or which I encountered at critical times of growth in my life. These are books which changed the way I think. Only one or two books which were once important to me but which I have since utterly rejected are not here.

So, here's my reading list of 125 books that shaped my mind and taste. Make of them what you will. How many of these have you also read?
