Sassy

Praying today for our doggie, Sassafras. Her back legs collapsed out from under her about 5:00 a.m. this morning and Deanne got up to help her get her legs underneath her again. She moved to another room, then plopped down to sleep.

I came to take her for a walk just before noon, and she couldn't get up. I got her back end up, but she was too shaky to stand. I tried to pick her up and carry her out, but she growled and snapped at me. It just hurt too much.

She's up and functional now, but not very strong. We've upped her Glucosamine/chondroitin and given her painkillers. Deanne's going to the vet this afternoon and will ask what else to do. The problem is in her back and/or hips. Long dogs often have these kinds of problems.

Poor girl. She's eleven and a half years old and it shows. But to me she's still my Pink Puppy Princess™, "the onliest doggie that I've ever loved."
