Some days, it comes down to a coin flip

I read a lot of news and opinion online. That includes a fair amount of religious stuff. I just read an article by a leading Evangelical on a major social issue, and not for the first time wondered if my negative response to his writing would be better explained by the idea that he is obviously holier than I am, or the idea that he's peddling spiritual hokum.
