Leading the way

The United Methodist Church has about 35,000 congregations in the US. We have almost 11,300 BSA units (Cub Packs, Scout Troops, Venturing Crews), but only 7,900 congregations charter those units.

That means that some congregations charter more than one unit. This is a good thing; in fact, it would be great if every UM congregation chartered what we call "the full Scouting family": a Pack, a Troop, and a Crew.

So, how many congregations charter all three? Only 186. Out of 35,000. I am proud to say that Ellettsville First United Methodist Church is one of those 186.

I hope you are, too.
